Penny Carey Wells - Artist
Penny Carey-Wells has been working with handmade paper, artists’ books and graphic design for lots of years now. She spent fourteen years working as the lecturer and technician in Papermaking at the School of Art at University of Tasmania. Penny is currently employed part time as the Exhibition Officer at the State Library of Tasmania and also working in a freelance graphic design/bookbinding studio. Carey-Wells has been exhibiting her artwork since 1982 and has had several solo shows and has participated widely in shows nationally and internationally. Penny has been a guest lecturer and artist-in-residence at international universities and art schools. Penny understands that the meaning of life is to have fun.
