Artists StatementWhen I am working on my art, all of my waking, and possibly sleeping moments are moving through me. Colours, locations, smells, memories, conversations, ideas, people, gestures, silences all float through me. And on a good day; a wondrous, joyful, gift of a day, I will be given that moment of clarity when everything harmonizes into a single bolt of lightening. And on those days, my work is in my dreams.
Description of WorkTitle of work: Meditations of Love - Verse II Artist: Barb Flemington January, 2009 Dimensions: 25.5 cm (length) x 11.5 cm (width) x 3 cm (depth) Media: walnut, found object, paper, wax, ink This work was completed graciously by the artist, after her work (below) was stolen while on exhibition. Despite a heavy work schedule, she completed the work and shipped it to Australia in time for the opening of the exhibition in March 2009 at the next venue in Caloundra, Queensland. The box was not stolen in the theft, and was returned to the artist in Canada, and she made a new work, closely related to the first.
